Hi Guys
I've been registered for a long time but unfortunately don't get to come on much due to work & family life etc.

Anyway, sorry if this is the wrong place, but I know 3rd person works with the wizard. But how do i get it to work with other models like a soldier? I know it can be done but how?

I have used search but I'm still not sure how easy it is?

Any tips would be useful and greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

However, is there any plans to sell 3rd person models?

I have seen the Mech robot, but nothing else?

any model can become 3rd person so any model you buy you can make it 3rd person use. but it is all about the animation as well.

As mxs said, any character can be third person, but for non-wizard style characters you have to make some tweaks, theoe tweaks need to be done at the users end because they include making a copy of and editing default media.

To put a non-wizard third person character on the store you would need to upload those tweaked files too which is not allowed for licensing reasons, or describe how to make the adjustments on the items store page, which would be over complicated for the user, which the store doesn't like you doing because they manually check to see if it works in gameguru and testing them would increase approval times.

So until Lee makes third person easier to do we probably won't see many non-wizard third person specific models.

I have a custom TPV Character in the store (not the mech) I need to know what files I have included that were tweaked and aren't allowed for licensing reasons as it may be that I need to pull it, sorry if I included any files that weren't my own (I truly thought everything was my own work but may have inadvertently used media not my own) any info would be appreciated as a matter of urgency. If out of line I promise to refund everyone and never to do it again, I will also offer a written apology to TGC for using any media they own under license

We are talking about characters with other weapons, like the soldier character with modern weapons, which need amendments to the weapons and cross hairs etc, yours use the wizard system which work fine without any changes to weapons.

Oh! I see, sounded like you were referring to any TPV characters, dang internet sometimes gets wires crossed and confuses things

All the same if you can model a character might not be so difficult to create a weapon and crosshair of your own so strictly speaking it would be easier for a media creator to do that than link into the hard coded projectile weapons...no?

No mate, sorry to confuse, I meant non-wizard style ones because in his first post he says "But how do i get it to work with other models like a soldier", my bad, I should have clarified that in the post.

No worries...you posted just as I edited...my point here is that it might not be so difficult for anyone who can model/animate to create more third person characters for the store. But you are absolutely correct, it is a chore presently and more control over TPV is required, particularly for non modelers. Long way off though

Totally agree. Very true that if you can model weapons and characters you could probably do it yourself, but as you say it's a lot of hassle to do, so we won't see a lot of them appearing on the store until there's an easier way to do it.

I really need to learn how to character model sometime, I've not even tried yet because it kind of frightens me. BTW, your Sorcerer's Apprentice models are epic, wish I could do that.

I just wanted to create a better Wizard type chracter at the time, it is ok but could be a lot better
Things that would make TPV would include weapon swapping etc, I reckon the reason you get problems with the character shooting themselves is to do with player using HUD postioning for weapon rather than Firespot and it would probably be a fairly easy fix for the Dev, but just guessing here.

This is the one feature I have been eagerly looking forward to and waiting for a long time. I know there is a workaround that requires code tweeks and modifying the character animations, not exactly easy. Isn't this a camera modification mostly? (I understand the requirements for the models

If I may suggest to take off '3rd person' on the features page until this is an easier workflow. I would love to create a 3rd person adventure game in this, everything seems to be here just need the easier add on to the 3rd person camera?.
