I see I have many characters that are on a horse or other animal, How do I start the player on a horse with a weapon please?

DVader has done a body script here that you might be able to mod to achieve something like this but generally speaking: You don't. There is no premade or otherwise easy way to do anything like this.

This has been done with a soldier and a full AI body. see the first person post.

You would need to have the horse and rider rigged and animated together, then export to x file format. Remember that no more then 63 bone for each of the rigs. I would have a rig for the horse and a rig for the rider, then attach them together with a dummy object. This allows you to have the required bones you need and not blow up the GG character shader.

I seen someone in the forums was able to actually attach other entities as limbs to the player entity. No idea how he did this... but it seems like the industry standard way. Since you want your player to be able to dismount and mount. probably a ton of scripts going on.

I can imagine this being done via 2 models (1 for horse and 1 for player) and some very specific scripts to call the correct animations.
Its not too difficult to place entities in sync for simple placement like that and then a script to keep the horse in place with the player should work but as with most of the vehicle scripts you will likely notice some flickering and collision issues at high speeds.

Short answer is I can't imagine this being possible without a lot of scripting if you want dismounting etc

but if just solely as a mounted character the whole level its pretty simple as most characters work fine (though limited animations) with a few fpe changes (if you can put up with the third person controls).

Still a ways to go, Still need to mount and unmount in a realistic way, ( or not )
