Hi all,

so i was working on roads and footpaths for Toonland, and I knew one of the grandsons would want a car for it - here is the result thus far.

TLRC (Toonland Rally Car) comes in four flavors.

TLRC-01 Blue
TLRC-02 Red
TLRC-03 Green
TLRC-04 Tan

At the moment the model is the same for each car with the exception of spotlights but I may just make them the same. the difference is in the Diffuse for each car, colour obviously, but also different gauges for each model, which were fun to make.

Use the 3d HUD like the jet pack does. Since your interiors are detailed should work.

And of course the Roads and footpaths are coming!

Designed to set into the terrain for added detail, and can be used to have the Toonland Path textures as the road, or of course just lay some bitumen.

Been working on and off on this stuff for a while now, but work has just been getting in the way!

All snaps easily together in grid mode

@smallg thanks for the kind words.

The cars are in the process of being added to the store, I did want to try an make a script to make them derivable, but that is a little out of my scripting skills at the moment. It would probably take me forever if it is even doable to a believable degree in the engine at present - lol. But when I get some time I will have a go at it.

The roads and paths are nearly there just got a couple more pieces for the paths to make. I plan to add to the roads - parking bays, signs and such, but I will get the basic set that is shown up as a pack and add those other bits to the pack as they are made.

Should have been up already but got side tracked, first I thought gotta make a car, well errrmmm that took like a week, then I thought lets make some trees lol.

But back on track now

Put that on it m8 add the name to the if used field, Its a modified script smallg did a while back, let me know how you get on and if it needs adjusting. Its should all be in the script anyways

Oh just realized you will need this script maybe as when or if you press the fire button it will error as it the other script is set up to fire missiles, what you need to do is lay down 2 objects and put this script on them, name them m1, m2 or just 1,2 (been a while) so when you press fire it will fire the object e.g missiles in your case maybe teddy's or balloons . you could probably adjust it to instead of cause damage to cause skidding or slowdowns etc etc. Just remembered it last night before bed and will save you wondering why it errors

Honkeyboy, thanks for that, yes got that error and commented out the fire code.

Got it working to a degree, needs some adjusting to add slowdown when not accelerating, and also the model tends to flash while moving. Also need to position camera a bit lower so player is sitting in the car a bit lower and farther back.

But great starting point, will have a more serious look at it when I get the road models finished.

lol you could have random monsters/characters from the GG library in them (now that would be funny) jaws from the classic vs the mutant soldier rofl. ive managed to get the cars working 3rd person but for whatever reason the car apart from the air filter on the bonnet is invisible? :/ any idea why that would be? (there again it was late when i tried it, way past my bedtime)

Hi all, just wanted to let you guys know that this project is still happening. But due to seaming lack of interest in this thread or maybe the assets, I have been busy working on assets for my own game. And I guess with the EBE out most people are busy playing with that anyhow.

However I do still intend to upload the roads and paths to the store but it is a lot of work - took a whole day just to make icons and screen shots and preparing the zips for each item - lol

Have also been working on buildings for Toonland - although I am probably going to put a hold on developing them any further - somehow I think the EBE makes this kind of thing a bit redundant.

Hi all,

The roads are coming to Toonland!

Toonland Assets - Roads and Footpaths collection is coming to the store - just pending approval.

The collection is comprised of 42 models that hopefully allow you to make the road system you want for your Toonland venture. And there will be more added soon.


This is the spill for the store:

Toonland Assets - Roads and Footpaths

Roads and Footpaths for Toonland!

The footpaths are designed to set into the terrain for added detail, and can be used to have the Toonland Path textures (or your texture of choice from any terrain set) as the road, or of course you can use the roads to lay some bitumen.

The Roads and Footpaths share textures to reduce memory requirements on the system. The Paths all map to one of two textures, while the Roads map to one of four textures.

All snaps easily together in grid mode.


Texture sizes for all models are:
D - 1024
N - 512
S - 512

Hi all

Decided to do a little more work on Toonland Assets.

Will be adding some trees shown earlier in this thread, more grass variants, fencing, and maybe a space rocket or two, as well as making a few tweaks to existing models.

Updated smoothing on the cars already in the store but snowed under with work for while will be uploading them soon as possible.

Also Toonland Motors are soon to release a new version of their rally car. Some teaser pics:
