More and more frequently launching a test run results in a solid color. Sounds still working, movement still possible, screenshot as below.

Fresh rebuild of local files via steam.
I've deleted some extra decorative entities and it seems to help.
Is there a maximum map complexity for Gameguru? Have I maxed out GG's capacity?

So, there is no answer to this question?
No one can tell me if the blank screen is a result of too complex a map in Gameguru?

If the screen is a solid colour when you enter test, then that's usually an issue with graphics drivers..

What graphics card are you using?
What version of the graphics cards drivers are you using? |
Have you recently updated them?

Occasionally a new update for NVidia drivers will come out and break GameGuru this way for me, if i role back the drivers it fixes it, and usually the next new driver when it's released will fix it for me. It may be something like that is causing your issue.

As to this, give us a chance, you posted at 5am (uk time), and then reposted at 10:38am (uk time) on a Monday morning, the company is a UK based company so it's a little early to expect a response from them, and most of the community is EU based, so again a little early to expect an answer. A day or two without an answer is ok to ask again, but after 5hrs at silly early times i wouldn't expect anyone to answer you for a while.

Congratulations, you hit the memory cap. It happened to us during the development of "Father's Island" occasionally.

Can you post a screenshot of the map from far above?

Are you sure? Whenever i hit the memory cap it won't even load the test game, just brings up the keyboard layout screen, then throws an out of memory error up and restarts the editor.

Yes, but perhaps not the memory cap you mean right now (or the one we associated with FPSC). It is a VRAM limit that turns the screen green once you hit it. If you reduce the amount of textures or their resolution, it usually works again.

I hit the Lua memory limit the other day, didn't even know there was one!
Been there, done that, got all the T-Shirts!
