Has anyone here had experience using the Entertainment Software Rating Board? What is the process like and are there any cost associations?

https://www.esrb.org/Index_Notloggedin.aspx?returnurl=/publishers/

I've been starting work on a new game in GG, of which Id like to take to Steam in the future and I'd appreciate a proper assessment for its rating so it could be more accurately distributed.

Hi,

As far as I remember, the Esrb was free for Digitally distributed games. Basically it's a online questionnaire easy to complete. I seem to remember that the he registration process was more complicated.

Frankly, I don't remember very wel... But I am sure that others forum users (or the TGC peple) must've done it more recently.

I wish you all the best with your game Teabone.

If it's the same as the one from google store then its basically just a short yes/no questionnaire about violence and gambling etc.

An FPS without violence? That would be interesting.

I've just started work on a game where violence and gambling are the least of the issues!

We did ESRB back in the day when we had a physical box product in the US, and it was a nightmare. Fortunately, you don't need it for Steam releases
PC SPECS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit, Intel Core i7-5930K (PASSMARK:13645), NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980 GPU (PASSMARK:9762) , 32GB RAM

Teabone, ESRB how posh are you? Still, at least your thinking ahead I would not have even thought it applicable, which it seems it isn't :p Thankfully, else I would have completely missed that no doubt at some point along the line. Good question and subsequent info!

SPECS: Q6600 CPU. Nvidia 660GTX. 8 Gig Memory. Win 7.
