I've managed to get my Xbox controller working but rotate is very slow, moving forward etc is about as fast as the mouse/keyboard, I had a search around but I could only find two other threads and people had the same issue
System is i7 3770k 8 ram on Windows 10 pro Quadro 600, I know the GPU sucks but it'll run bigger games than the demo's and works fine with the keyboard setup
I hope this is the right place.. its not really a bug

Hey so I'm not the only one that uses an XBOX controller with my PC games

I like how quite a lot of steam games support the Xbox controllers by default. And dont require button-mapping. Just turn on the controller and it overrides the keyboard. I have not used it yet in GG.

in the setup.ini you can enable it there

walking works fine but the turn is painfully slow even in an empty world

I'm really surprised the controller was only added recently, I'm hopeless at using the keyboard as the primary control lol

Controller support was in pretty much from the beginning, but Lee had issues with it and disabled it, it's only a few updates ago he looked at it and made it a little better, it's not perfect but it at least works.

The biggest problem with it is that there are multiple types of xbox controller and the only way to get them to work is to change the xboxcontrollertype line in the init file. So even if you have it enabled on your standalone only some people will be able to use it because there's no function to auto detect your controller type and automatically change it.

Maybe there could be an option for the player to specify the controller type.

Hello,

Could someone list the Xbox controllers that are most compatible with GG as far as they know. I am thinking of getting one for testing.

Maybe others want to test the "most compatible" one thus far too.

Would there be any others like the one Steam makes or PC specific ones?

Thanks

I wish I could help you! I don't have an XBox and I know nothing about the controllers. I bought one to use with UE4, and when they introduced the support in GG, it just worked. I got one with my Oculus Rift as well, and if I recall correctly that one works as well. I will double check on that one though and get back to you!
