Has anyone got Hockeyboy's LUA protect to work? - when I use it the program deletes all my LUA files though it did work a few weeks ago - I have PM's him but had no reply

I haven't, but that sounds a nasty little issue. It may be he isn't visiting the forums as much as he used to now and so hasn't seen your message yet. You may have more luck mailing him if he has an email address listed.

Run the program 'as admin' and it should be ok. But take backups of the lua first just in case

Hey DV - yes could have been nasty but luckily I backed my files up first - tried emailing but address no longer valid - do you know of any other methods to encrypt my lua files as I am ready to present my demo on the community but don't want my extraordinary code being plaguerised.

Ps - I a m an avid fan of your videos and your dry wit!

Probably unlikely this is the issue if you have had it working recently but have you 'unblocked' it via right click properties?

unblocked in what way? If you mean permissions then these are set to allow for all permissions for all users for the LUA protector.exe. However, the scriptbank folder as indeed all my other folders has the Read only attribute box checked in right click properties\general though I am assuming this is how it should be - doesn't allow me to reset anyway.

I haven't really investigated encoding scripts as yet. I'm not sure, but it may be worth checking out Vishnu Packer, as I seem to remember someone saying it encodes your game files. I tried it ages ago, but it didn't like the scripting I had in there. It's probably fine with most GG games.

I have the trial version of Vishnu Packer but I haven't used it in many years.... It has many compression methods.. Surprised how many of these tools I've kept around all these years. Just finding them all now.

I meant right click on lua protector and luac.exe and see if there is an unblock button on the general tab under properties. This worked for me the last time a few months ago but isn't now. I'm writing a quick app to do this instead. I'll post it here when done and see if it works for you. Cheers.

I got it to work by moving the script folder to my D drive and running LUA protector on my C drive - could be my drive settings on C but it worked anyway
