Woo , we are finally getting to the point
that some games can be made and run and play half decently.
Lua is coming along and is understandable and reachable for more and more of us..
especially with the help of others on the forum boards who are so kind an try to share
and explain as much as possible..
made this little map in very little time...lighting and all and is easier now to get a nice
atmosphere in the game.
Once A.I. is uped a bit...LOOK OUT...we all gonna fly without wings...WooHOO

Just type the last value, in your case "7tHh0hFZtOU", withaout quotes, highlight it; so, go up and you can see the video tag, click on youtube tab, and you are done.

The text prompts, do they move that quickly or are you hitting a key to make them switch to the next line of dialogue?

Hi teabone...
no, I was running thru the map in order to show more in a small time.
The size of the TextZone actually determine how long the message stays on the screen.
If you enter the zone and stand still it will continually show until you start to walk and exit the
zone covered area.

Hi UNIRD12B, are you using PromptDuration(str,v) with your triggers?

Example:

PromptDuration("Tea time, someone put the kettle on!",3000) -- every 1000 is about a second. This way you don't need big trigger zones / text zones. You can keep them smaller by just adding the duration variable.

Based on your game mechanics, I'm guessing they will only show when you get to the next location using trigger zones. If not try using a timer for the on screen text. That way, you can tell a story even if they are standing still taking in the scenery. You can then place the text anywhere on the screen you want. Add impact to the story line by the pauses between your text. This can all be done using the os.clock() with lua, etc.
