Hi guys, I'm not sure if any of you have had a chance to look over the Far Cry 4 Map Editor yet. I would love to see GG move a little in this direction. I still like the idea of script too so would want to keep that.

Have a look at the link above. It is the PS4 version not the PC.

I hope to see a comment soon

Been asking for GG to incorporate the water editing features that we had in FPSCx10 since the start. Still waiting. Even FPSCx9 started to adapt them later on. I just don't understand why people get so incredibly defensive when I bring up the fact that GG severally lacks in comparison to many of the features the past products its suppose to be the successor to.

Its a fact.

Nice example of what FPSCx10 could do with water . There were at lot of things in both X10 and X9 that should have been ported over .

I really like Cry Engines way of building roads. Unlike any other engine out there.

The truth is that it hurts because it's real.

I was quite impressed with water in FPSC at the end. I would say it should be noted it was mostly users efforts here. Basic water in FPSC was not as good. Odd to see those menus's though, they look similar to GG's now in ways. I think the main issue for me in GG here is the fact you have one level only. Why can't we have any plain set as water at any level? I've played around myself but it never works. I'm no shader expert by any means, but it is obviously possible to do.

It would be great to see some of these features added sooner rather than later. I'm guessing that Lee could get multiple water planes in far faster than say the EBE being worked on at present. Of course we would all prefer water blocks so when under water you could have shaders to suit This was vaunted a long time ago but so far we are yet to see any improvements from the water we have.

Perhaps Lee could list features that would take less time or add more info in the voting board. Some features that would give GG a great boost, probably wouldn't take too long in comparison to others. That way people could vote for something more intelligently than they can at present. I'm sure the voting would change significantly if an estimation of time to create was included. The EBE was a surprise for me, were still waiting and it's been quite a wait. Obviously things can take longer than expected, but I'm sure Lee has already learnt the Scotty mentality Estimate higher than you think and no one is going to complain when you end up doing it faster

Edit - Noticed that you were showing X10 never used it, so can't say. However DX10 is a big improvement to DX9. If it had been kept going it would surely by now be a great product. Although Vista didn't do well, all later Windows O/S's support DX10 as far as I know. X10 could have well been the big product TGC wanted with Reloaded

The DX11 update can't come soon enough for me, even if after almost a year we still have not seen a sniff despite the encouraging news last year.

I guess it should not be to hard to bring some of those features from FPSCxxx in to GG editor too. I look forward to it then.
But I won't hold my breath just yet unless you bring that water level up again Teabone

Excellent idea. People might tend to vote for important features that would only take a week or so or maybe less vs. some whimsical feature that will take 6 months or more ( e.g. EBE).

And the video example I have there of FPSCx10 I literally took just today on Windows 7. Works incredibly well. No FPS drops what so ever. No idea why it was abandoned since it works wonders on future versions of Windows. Development went back to FPSCx9 after FPSCx10 was abandoned. But mostly with the help of community members.

When i see engines like the Cry Engine touch water I feel a bit depressed. Because i know in GG its going to be a very long time before we can really do anything with water. I'm glad swimming at the least is on the list.

Sometimes I'd like to invent a time machine, travel to 2025, make a copy of GG and bring it back to 2016. Alas, I don't think that's going to happen.

Water was quite powerful in the final versions of FPSC, if you used it cleverly.

That's the reason because the player died, when going into water.
