Hello clever people of the internet!

I have encountered somewhat of a problem, I seem to have a severe lack of brain cells when trying to learn how to import my own model with textures into GameGuru, and not some eerily looking potato with odd textures, I have tried a couple of tutorials so far and read a few posts, including this one:"https://forum.game-guru.com/thread/213017" but so far I haven't had any luck. What I'm trying to do is make a custom head available for the character creator, and failed every time. It's getting rather irritating, and the solution could hopefully be as simple as opening an existing file and replacing the mesh with my custom mesh - trouble is, I can't open them with any program that I know of. Can anyone assist me with this matter? Also, I did intent to import entire characters, but figured it would be way too much work for a scrub like me - if anyone has the perfect guide just waiting for me to see, that would be a huge help!

If you're curious why I'm unable to work with the GameGuru engine when it comes to models, it's because I'm literally a scrub, and used Fuse by Mixamo, in an attempt to bypass all the magic that you wonderful people somehow have figured out how to do.

Hey! You can open, edit and rig meshes in .x with fragmotion. However, you should be able to do it with most other software as well...what are you currently using?

I'm currently using 3DS max or blender, those usually don't open .x files because it can't read the ascii format.

There should be plugins for these, did you check that? I know of a few folks on here who use a .x plugin for blender.

Blender doesn't need a .x plugin to export, it comes at standard, you just have to turn it on in File > User Preferences > Add-Ons > Import-Export

It doesn't however Import, it only Exports, as far as i know the last working .x importer for blender was broken when they made major changes in 2.6

The directX model format seems to have been left behind by most f the major modelling software, however Fragmotion is one of the best for .x importing, and Ultimate Unwrap 3D pro is also good for importing .x file.

Thanks for the replies, I also had tried out the importer for blender by downgrading the program to 2.6, but unfortunately that's where the anscii/text issue occured. I will check out this fragmotion later today and see if it works!
