Hi guys, just wanted to show you just some of the things you can do with images, sprites and lua script which is from the guys on this forum. Thanks guys

Below are some you-tube videos of the sci-fi hud in stages as its a WIP.

Part I

Part II

Part III

Update 28/08/16 - Just updated the you tube video as I was not happy with it and cut a lot out.

In part III I'm using the Sci-fi Hud with distance as the first stage which is activated by the Ai alerted variable and then the health for the combat variable. You will see the distance of the Ai soldiers in meters, then when in combat mode it will switch to health.

^ Part III ^

^ Part I ^

This was made will the free script from this forum with links below:-

!nullptr script - Night Shooters AID - Advanced Information Display
It is also based on CR4CK3T script - [GER] [ENG] Modern Hud

Hi LeighAndrew, what did you have in mind?
If you have an image of the kind of thing you would like I can do something like it.

Do you want:
A compass?
Shields?
Spells?
Potions ?
Cash / Coins?
XP?
Level?
etc?

Let me know.

But for now I need to finish the Sci-fi HUD...

I am making this Sci-fi Hud to practice my lua script. So I just thought why not start with a Sci-fi Hud. The funny thing is, I'm not even making a Sci-fi game lol.

My game will be based on a time in English history... well with a little twist.

Yeah nice work - I am sure many will want the scripts, and could make their own graphics perhaps.

Great work m8!

Yeah, i'm very impressed with this. The thing is, all of the scripting itself for this is really basic and simple, it's the creative aspect of the design that makes it the most impressive. I could easily write the scripts for this hud, but i would never think of putting the elements in those specific positions and so on. It's all well and good having a script, but you have to have the creativeness to use them.

Hi all, just added a new feature for any scope gun. What this does is clean up the sprites / images.

In the above test videos, the heart and gun graphics were still visible. So I removed / moved them off screen including the elevation, degrees, HUD compass, but not the entity compass. My thoughts behind this is you would not be able to see anything else through the gun scope. But if it is a futuristic gun scope it may still have the entity compass. The gun designer would probably move the HUD degrees compass to the middle of the sight.

Anyway have the look at the images below and let me know what you think.

^ Normal view ^

^ Scope with compass in cross-hair ^

^ Scope with moving compass in cross-hair ^

^ Zoom on hand gun but no chnage to HUD ^

Hi Guys, I got a bit bored with the other HUD so quickly made another one. Have a look at the you-tube link below.
In the you-tube example the compass radar also rotates.
The helmet will also have different colour visors HUD based on the environment.

Examples:

Clear - Inside and able to take your helmet off.
Blue - Outside and all is okay.
Green - Night Vision.
Orange - Harsh environment.
Red - Radiation.

Part IV

^ You Tube Video ^

^ Harsh environment ^

^ Okay it's blue as I'm inside, but no air-lock active so I need to wear my helmet ^

Also a new rotating compass like you see on radar.

Hi Nailgrind, I did put it on the back burner due to other stuff like building my first MP level(s). I will see if I can still get it to work as not sure where I have put all the files lol. I may not have the time to finish it but if you want parts of the HUD, images, etc let me know.

Thank you 3com.

I think I remember why I never finished it. I was working on a animated version. First with sprints then in blender; that way you could take it off in safe zones throughout your level.

I must try and dig those files out and stop using my old alienware to design with... its so out of date!
What is it about that old computer you still love using? lol

... But I am working on a new HUD with a full score system, which will make killing entities and them kill you more fun (but I hate dying). Not sure which resolution to support yet but will probably be FHD 1920x1080 - UHD 4K.

Let me know your thoughts?

Okay, will see if I can dig them out of my archives. What is your time frame as I'm a little busy to work on the older HUD's just yet. The new score system HUD will only be released once I have finish the MP level as it is a lot more coding.
