Hello guys I've had a problem with exporting my textures for my models but for some reason the normals look like crushed paper or a crashed car. I've tried looking through the forums but couldn't find a fix for my issue. Here's a picture in Game-Guru and one in Unity. I have all my textures labeled as _D, _N, _S and _I so I do not know what I am doing wrong. Hope that someone can help me.

If you delete (or rename) your normal map, what does it look like? GG uses a default normal map if you don't have one, and it looks like what you have there.

That seems to be the issue Gtox. I have everything named the same besides the _N at the end but it still has the issue. Also the illumination map isn't working either.

It might help to make sure the texture name is in the FPE and not incorrect in any way. Sometimes a little mistake can make the default normal map kick in or give you no texture at all, etc. Most importantly, are you using a single texture for the entire model?
I'll add an avatar and a real signature someday. I think...

I use 2 textures for the model Pete and Pete.

Ok. Unless there is a workaround, which I would LOVE to know about, that's probably the problem. GG needs a single texture for the additional maps to work out, otherwise you end up with the default normal and the ugly bumps you have there.

I wish I knew an easy fix for you, but I have no idea and don't think there is one at this time unless I have missed something.

That sucks. Don't see why it can't be supported when 2 textures are. This impacts the quality of a model a lot.

I agree, and it makes creating a really nice texture at a reasonable size a real challenge, but at least for now, it's what we have to work with. I don't know if or when that might be changed.

what i know is, that If you use more textures, then in the fpe you need to leave the texture name empty
or something changed now, but that how it first was working..

Harry is right about that. I just can't remember if and don't think it allows special maps like illumination when you do it that way.

@AngelTheKiller

I know it is easier to have more than one texture, I have thought of doing it myself but since GG does not accept it very well I do it all on one texture map. You could put it all on one then this would stop GG from using the default normal. It may be a bit of a pain joining the two together but it doesn't take too long to do it.
