Hi,

I need know what system of units is used for GameGuru

British Imperial ?
International System of Units ?
Other ?

I wrote a simple script for sound emitters and i don't know that number is right for stop sound and roll off control

set soundemitter_maxaudibledist = 2500 without knowing what measure is 2500 in Game Guru, after several tests I found an approximate number
Intel i5-6600K 3.5Ghz, 3GB 780 GTX, 8GB DDR3, Win 7 x64 Ultimate with SP1
Asus k53SV Intel i5-2430M 2.4@3Ghz, 2GB GT 540M, 4GB DDR3, Win 7 Home Premium x64
Sinclair ZX SPectrum 48k, Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128k +2A

Well sound is measured in thousandths of a second so 1000 = 1 second. Pretty standard in all languages I have used so far.

As Dvader said, 2500 is 2.5 seconds, pretty standard across many programming languages.

@ Equinoxe
Or perhaps you want player listen the sound when closes to the emitter, and does not when far away from.
If so, you has to play with the distance (2500), till you are happy with.

What ???

Measurements of length, not time. I know millisecs 2500 are 2.5 secs, thx DVader and belidos, but ...
The sample script is very clear, distance between the player and the sound emitter, not time
My question is that measurement system has Game Guru

In most engines and 3D applications by default is, 1unit = 1meter
Lightwave for example, Blitz3D, Solid Works the same, etc ..

I think you do not understand me. Values for measuring distances, not to measure time. Distance between player and entity (in mtrs, cms, kilometers, yards, etc)
2500 millisec away, that makes no sense
The distance is not measured with magnitudes of time

@ 3com
I need rolloff factor for fade out volume when distance is > 2500, but that isn't the question.
I want know that is 2500 for Game Guru when we are referring to distance, not time

i think the concrete slabs (floors) in the scenery (?) folder are 100x100.
So, in this occasion.. your soundemitter starts working within 25 floor slabs away from the player.

@Anubis

And each floor slab has equivalence in meter cms, yards or anything in real world scale ?

Thanks Anubis

I think 100 units = 100 inches

I thought so too.
so 100x100 GG units == 100x100 inches == 2,54 x 2,54 meters.
Considering 1 unit = 1 inch = 2,54 cm

The masked soldier is about 72 units.. which in inches would be about 1.80 meter. (sounds good as a 'normal' person height)

I'm not at home, so i can't really check what i use in Blender for units.
But i also found this link on the GG forum.

That is correct and is what is used for the physics system.
The coffee is lovely dark and deep, and I have code to write before I sleep.

Sorry, misread the first post, too much audio in the variable names! I saw them and thought it was an audio length, not distance. Seems you have an answer now though.
