I found this script on the forums.

is there A way to reposition where the player is teleported? maybe just above the hood of a car? or transport the player above the car looking down and freeze the player and make the player move with the car? for a better visual I attatched a pic. player a is positioned above the hood and player b is like a third person sort view.

edit : also this is why i cant make textures for my models..... my art is terrible but that is a car.

this one is probably closer to what you want to achieve
https://forum.game-guru.com/thread/207801?page=15#msg2551879
basically you're looking to manipulate the SetFreezePosition(x,y,z) and SetFreezeAngle(ax,ay,az)

Well not exactly but I think that I can manage this.... If I use this
https://forum.game-guru.com/thread/216018
I think I can use this tank script (If the character is hidden in the model I'm going to use. ) If this don't work ill go that route but I'll have to change a few things in the story, and the level layout....

when i get in the Humvee the Humvee drives sideways.

In the model program turn the Humvee towards the direction that the script wants to call forward.

Re export it and delete the .dbo file also.

Maybe you can try this in the FPE file first by changing one of the rotx, or rotz commands there.

I was watching the broadcasts trying to find out more of the fpe file, i was trying the offx and offy but lee said in the one braodcast that the offx and y are pretty much disabled. that was braodcast 10 are they still disabled? I'll try that.

edit: I tried to put the model into blender but to no prevail... . .

can you email me an .obj file of the model and the textures, and I will see if I can get it orientated. I had to do this on one I tried a while ago.
Also send your script and a basic map file for me to test out your scenario on.
email address in button below.

Thanks

ok, looked at the x file in 3ds max. Added a bone to it and re exported it out.
It faces to the top of the editor screen now When set, the direction forward is moving to start. Works pretty good this way.

Still if you set it any other direction, it still wants to go forward the same way. I suggest till we get proper vehicle control maybe to set it in this fashion for use, facing the top of the editor screen.

I will see about creating the opening in the texture spot for the gunner door. Was thinking about removing the mesh in that spot but there is no interior and the player will be able to see thru the Humvee if done this way.
