Hello everyone,

if I make some facial animation for a character, for example in Maya, but instead using bones I use blendshapes or other anim/deform tool, could GG import and use them? How could I activate them in the FPE?

And if GG only accept bones for anim purposes, could I make bones to anim de face and then GG could use them?

In other words, could GG use as many bones as I could put in a model or it has a limited and fixed structure of bones?

Thank you very much!!

GG can use both animations with or without bones, but I don't think you can use blendshapes, it needs keyframes. To get it working in GG you would need to specify the anim frames for your animation in the models .fpe, and write a script to call those frames ad play them.

At the moment GG is limited to 63 bones per model.

X file format will not be able to do blends of morphs. You will need to use keyframe animations with bones.

Of course, when you do facial animations, you gotta hire voice actors! (Unless you can do impressions, of course)

I've been trying to do my own voice acting. It is terrible. I have a good friend overseas who has done some for me and he's pretty good. Also, he's American which makes it sound cool.

No worries.

Sorry, buddy. I guess I've been a bit over-cautious and sensitive since someone was a bit rude to me on the forums the other day and we got warned to be civil by The Scene Commander. LOL.

I should have known you were kidding, judging by your other posts.

It's hard to convey sarcasm through text. I just throw it out there and see what sticks. I've just never heard anyone say an American sounds cool (unless it's Morgan Freeman or James earl jones, of course)
