Hey all, haven't really touched much of the new commands and features in GG yet. Was curious if its possible to make particle emissions yet? Or is this still hardcoded into the game? Noticed a few scriptable commands added in regards to it (in the global.lua file).

I'm assuming this would use our decals and give them birth and death rates and all that jazz in the future? or is this something we can do now?

There was a basic but working particle emission system in the later versions of FPSC. Is that sort of the thing we may see in the future? Or something more advanced. I'm personally just trying to see if i can make any custom decal emit.

Still hard coded and you can change the base one given to what you want, but there is still only one at a time, able to be used right now.

This is unfortunate.

Noticed its on the community vote list.... very low on the list. Guess we won't see it till 2017-2018.

Not nearly as low as VR, which is what I wish was in the top ten. It's already been in the engine once! No rant here, though. I'm looking to 2025 for my wish, lol. Actually, I think once Lee gets the major elements out of the way, some of the features should be pretty quick, including particle effects. He sometimes does throw stuff in when it's convenient or the right time, regardless of where it's at on the list. Since particle effects are already in the engine, when he exposes everything to Lua, wouldn't that and many things naturally follow? Or is he talking about an actual particle effect editor? Oh, well, wait and see...

It would be nice to control the amount of particles emitted.
