I apologise if this is not on the correct form, but I'm having an issue with the models I have created using Wings 3D. Since I don't think this is a bug issue, I posted the question here rather than the Bug Reports form.

I made a simple concrete hut as I learn the basics of Wings 3D, and as you can see below the hut is smaller than the characters foot.

I thought I had adjusted the size on GG as I uploaded the model, but it didn't seem to work. Is this something that has to be done on Wings or GG?

Thanks!

Its best to scale it in the model program itself (otherwise light mapping gets confused if you use it) but you cab use
Scale = #
In the models .fpe file to adjust it if you want... (100 is default, 200 is 2x the size, etc)

Yes when this has happened to me I used scale in the FPE to find out how much it needs scaling up and then when satisfied I go to the 3D program and scale it by the appropriate amount. I find it easier doing it this way than scaling in the 3D program and exporting out, testing and so on.

I've got something to say - It's better to burn out than fade away.

Thanks guys!

I went to change the .fpe files for the models but a while ago I accidentally converted them to Adobe files, so I can't adjust them. I need to find a way to convert them back.

Also scaling in the fpe will cause the light mapping to use more of the grid and take longer

Do you know how to do that? I think the last time I scaled the uniform larger it still ended up being very small in GG.

I don't know how you do it in your 3D program but in mine I highlight everything and then group it together, if you have more than one object in your model (if you don't group it everthing will scale seperatly and make the item look very odd). You should have a scale button somewhere, just choose this and then drag uniformly (x,y,z) and then when you export it should be scaled.

I found this on the Web: http://www.wings3d.com/?page_id=923. Hope it helps.

Edit:

I just downloaded Wings3D and had a look at the scaling. It looks like you change to body selection mode and highlight everything, then right click select Scale Uniform and then just drag your mouse until you have the scale you want. Export out and voila.
