I didn't want to put this in Lee's post soliciting textures for the building editor, although it is relevant, but I assume we will be able to add to the textures in the building editor? Will it be limited to 16 total?

Whether there will an importer is unclear as Lee intends to release it in stages
1... so we don't have to wait ages for a release
2... he can get feedback
3... he can see hes on the right track

I guess then we can add suggestions for things like this but either way I'm guessing we could simply replace those texture in the folder with our own just like terrain textures ....

Anyway being able to change texture via script would be cool.
the buildings should not have the same texture after a rain, the streets should be wet, waterlogged, and so on.

EBE should be developed step by step, since always there are something to change, improved, add or removed, i'll takes sometime till it being 100% .

Thanks for the feedback! I agree it should be done in stages for the reasons mentioned. I hope it isn't limited like the current terrain textures though.

From what I remember Lee said he was going to make it for both those who want a "point and click use default stuff" people, but would allow the more advanced users/modellers to add their own models, I'm hoping he will do the same for the textures too. But as said before he's doing it in stages so he can get feedback and do it how we want it, so keep on suggesting

i3 , Intel integrated graphics, 6GB memory, 512GB Generic SATAIII Win8.1.
Intel Celeron (duel Core), Radeon integrated graphics, 4GB memory, 180gB Generic SATAII, WinVista.

Perhaps now you have started this thread it may be good to keep ideas coming ...
Lee can scan it and perhaps get ideas as he's developing

It will definitely be a step by step process so don't expect Maya 2016 inserted into the next build I am doing the basics first, and releasing that, partly so you can tell me if the direction is good, and second, so we can get through the rest of the voting board with equal vigor. The 'advanced EBE' will be added to the voting board in the near future with your requests for what should be added second (i.e. real-time texture swaps, destruction, built-in glass, tools, etc) but it might be that the first version is sufficient for the majority who have voted for the EBE with what I am cooking up now.

I just read the dev blog. 16 textures per building; that's awesome! Thank you!

That's pretty good, now if only Lee could add 16 terrain textures per level, we'd be golden
