Hi All,

I am assembling the best quality 1024x1024 textures for the building editor. I have attached the four I have right now, and will be doing more from my huge archive of material, but if you are an artist, and have textures you have created yourself which you would like to see in the official default selection, send them to be on this thread (at least 1024x1024 with Diffuse and Normal map). This post is the last action of what turned out to be a VERY long Friday so hopefully I can awake to some nice textures I can use for the EBE
PC SPECS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit, Intel Core i7-5930K (PASSMARK:13645), NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980 GPU (PASSMARK:9762) , 32GB RAM

Hello!

What you see attached are HighRes remakes of the FPSC ww2 textures. I took the original style, which I always based a lot of work on back in the FPSC times, and built upon it. The original versions of these are around 2 to 4k in resolution but they also look quite neat in 1024.

Its also part of the foundation of my scifi look. Players can use them for bunkers, military compounds, post apocalyptic games and wherever you need some gritty, darker concrete.

You'll notice that I also worked in the damaged parts and some drains.

If there is interest, I can also redo some other FPSC textures.

My contribution:

A sort of wood laminate texture and grey tiles. All the textures are 2048 x 2048 uncompressed dds files so you can stretch them or shrink them as much as needed.

I'm been following this thread anxiously. Really glad to see you're starting to get some contributions from artists, Lee.

I would like to contribute but I'm not much of an artist and I think this deserves the highest calibre of artist contribution.

Polished marble for you:

Could also do with a nice cube map reflection shader just to mirror the world in a blurry way.

Interestingly if you swap out the blank normal on that with the tiles normal from my post above you get this:

The texture isn't quite convincing though as the grain carries on across the tiles. You also need a bit of ambient occlusion in the gaps as in that shot it just looks like someone has scored liines into the marble. Interesting effect though.

Hey guys, adding those 3 textures, I'm using right now in a project, I'm working on.

Also an easy way for making buildings, and re-texture them.

Here's some bricks I've cobbled together. I've tried to get them as seamless as possible, but haven't tested that with the spec and normal maps, just the diffuse. They still look a little stripey, but a bit of fine tuning might improve them a little.

I'm liking the look of the EBE so far
Here's a quick example of the original bricks tiled together. This is shrunk down by about 4x the original size so it is easy to see here

Hi Lee sorry for my lack of knowledge on the matter - the EBE looks very promising. However - is the tool limited to only 16 textures? Or can we load our own textures? This could be very cool adding our own textures but if their is a hard limit on the texture amount similar to the terrain then this may not be what many had hoped for. Thanks!

It's 16 textures per building.

And I do plan to let you have your own textures, the 16 you will get are just some general ones for making basic material types. I have already been sent a 16 texture set which is dedicated for making cool church style buildings. Watch this space!!

How does the tool work swapping out texture sets? I would imagine that you could have different buildings created with the tool and each has a different set of 16 textures. It's not too limiting if that is the case, unless the building is intentionally large.
