I am sure it is probably just my eyes but...

The explosions in this video seem better than normal. Are they the standard GameGuru RPG explosions? How can I optimiase mine? Lightmapping? Target type? Something else?

When I use the RPG my explosions seem quite 2D and don't vary much but the ones in the video look more 3D and seem to have more variation.

Looking closely, these explosions seem to be spinning... maybe a decal rotating very fast?

Those look pretty normal to me, what kind of video card do you have? ( LOL, it's not like I know anything about them, but that would be my guess)

I would say the decal has changed since this video. I had a quick play and certainly see a difference between the video and what we get now. Of course I have no idea if you get a better explosion with a better GPU, but I doubt it. Very likely an optimisation for speed.

In effectbank\explosion back-up the files explosion2.dds and fireball.dds then rename fireball.dds as explosion2.dds and you will get an RPG explosion that looks very similar to that one in the video (may be the same one)

Cheers.

OK. Thanks. I'll try that.
