First of all! I'd like to say 'Hello' to everyone! You lot might recognise me from the TGC forums. Back in the day I worked with mgarand on this BOTB title: https://forum.thegamecreators.com/thread/171908 when I was still.. 14/15 maybe. Long time ago!

Regardless, I picked up audio design again. And I wondered, as I'm seeing more people with audio files on the store; What do you use?!

I use a combination of software and syths, mainly:

- MAGIX Music Maker 17/2016 with LiVid, Robota, Vita, Rovolta 2, Spacepad plugins.
- Mixcraft Pro 7.

(Totally not asking you to check out the items I got on the store )

I don't upload to the store but I do use Reason 8.1 with Thor and ReDrum + a bunch of combinators for effects and gates, Reason is all I've ever needed production wise been with it since 2.5.

I have not tried Mixcraft but I did try out Magix once but didn't like it there was to much latency on midi feedback, have you encountered this?

Nice, I have a Akai MPD8 and Akai LPK25 from the cheaper end of the spectrum and an old M-Audio KeyRig 49 for serious keyboard work as the LPK is a bit clumsy, the MPX8 looks awesome, I might treat myself to an upgrade

Actually. I have noticed this. its a minor feedback, but it messed with my overall quality somewhat. Steering away from it mostly and mostly focusing on Mixcraft at the moment.

My father has a sound room full of ...everything and I could ask him to come over and use it if I'd ever need it but its just not my world

While I'm not an audioguru, people have been fond of the sounddesign and placment in some of my previous releases and I have some ambient music on the store. I use wavepad to mix these. Thats it. 'been playing around with reason before but its way too complex for my taste. Always has been, even back in win 98 times.

A wolf appeared! You might remember me from Virus 2: The Breakout.. Where I provided most of the voice acting (The horrible sound when something died - I know. I was young!).

Since you helped me out a lot back then, if you ever need anything done. Feel free to contact me!

You must be PekelaarSFX! Ha! Nice to see yet another fossil one here.
Thanks for your offer!! I'll probably need a bit of sound work for my work in progress demo of Shavra. (its not a scifi shooter anymore though). I'll hit you up via PM in time.

Hi

For anyone interested in sound, music, audio creation I thought I would post some links for you to take a look at.

1st the KingKorg synth, some reviews hate this synth, but if you are willing to take time to re-program the sounds and create your own, its a great machine.

http://www.korg.com/us/products/synthesizers/kingkorg/

next, the mininova or the bigger ultranova, not sure which of these to buy yet, but they both sound great out of the box, and they come with a vst patch editor.

https://global.novationmusic.com/synths

The roland jdxi looks good to, and it is pretty cheap.

http://www.roland.co.uk/products/jd-xi/

So if you have some spare cash, might be worth a look.
