Just curious to know. Are the forum moderators employed by TGC or are they volunteers? If the former, do they also have other roles within this project?

They are volunteers and are in no way associated with or can influence TGC. They are usually picked from forum members by other mods.

For a more complete answer. The core moderators are all volunteers; however, some of the guys who work on TGC projects (and the site) also help moderate from time to time. They are, of course, paid. If you see the words "Forum Support" under the name of a Moderator; it means they are unpaid and volunteer much of their time to help keep the Community running.
