You could do this now if you can make your 3d object, All the mechanics are in place and even the script commands are there.
Treat each 3d menu object as you would an object for you game, assign scripts and triggers to make them appear and hide.
Pressing on them could initialize the next task, or even start new levels.
I would start with paper and pencil and list which menus you need and the action for each button chosen.
Not a beginner task making all your graphics and then scripting this out. But will be a cool addition to your game when you complete it.
