GG Gamedirectory - Setup.ini has a 'new' option called Gamemenuoptions.

In which it states (originally):

[GAMEMENUOPTIONS]
graphicslowterrain=lowest
graphicslowentity=lowest
graphicslowgrass=lowest
graphicsmediumterrain=medium
graphicsmediumentity=medium
graphicsmediumgrass=medium
graphicshighterrain=high
graphicshighentity=highest
graphicshighgrass=high

I think this option is here for pre-selecting the graphics-detail, a player gets to choose from in the standalone.

Changing graphicshighterrain into Medium is what i want. I don't like the shiny terrain.

...
graphicshighterrain=medium
graphicshighentity=highest
graphicshighgrass=high

Save standalone - Start it up - i notice the [Gameoptions] doesn't work..
If i start my game, and go to Graphics and change setting to HIGH.. my terrain is also set to HIGH?!!
And yes, i can tune down Global Specular, but this also effects the Entities, which i do want to be shiny..

Also made sure my 'testgame' settings had the same settings before saving the standalone.
Tried this several times, same result.

Anyone else notice this behaviour?

These can simply be deleted, if I remember correctly, they used to be used to change the graphics 'names' for the menus. For example, to change high to insane and low to mediocre. Anyway, since the update menu's are now LUA and no longer have any relevance.

Either way I just deleted the whole section, no problems.

Maybe I am wrong, Are we both using ver 1.131.

Okay did little research.
Go to Files\titlesbank\default
and open 'graphics.lua'

then find variable 'g_iGraphicChoice' (1 is low, 2 medium, 3 high) will set the default.

ex.
g_iGraphicChoice = 1

If the game is already built (standalone), the current setting is here.
Files\savegames\graphics.dat
-this contains the saved/last setting, delete this file, the game will make a new one from the defaults.

Yeah using SetGameQuality(3) and SetPlayerFOV(4) you could change these things anywhere like a trigger.. or maybe trigger when FPS is Low/High automatically.
