Hi, I just completed my first ever model. The only issue I have is that the colours that I added to it on Wings do not convert to Game Guru. I have a picture below to show.

As you can see, the windows are supposed to be black and the building is supposed to be more grey than it shows upon upload.

Game Guru requires actual textures to show in editor.
Just applying a color in the model program will not produce the texture sheets.

Is there a bake option in wings 3d?

Like Sketchup i dont think colours actually export as textures ...
Not actually a bug ...This is for the ( 3rD party models and media section )

According to a few YT vids there are baking options, but none of the vids or search result tell me how to texture the colours onto my model. Does any one know how to do that with Wings3d? Will I have to upload the models onto another engine like Blender or Linux in order to create my colour textures?

Thanks

This should tell you how to unwrap and bake the model textures into a texture file. Then when you import them into gameguru you need to tell it to look for the texture. If using the built in importer then just click the texture box in the creator and add the texture file there. If importing manually you need to edit the models .fpe and change the line textured = to textured = nameoftexture.format so for example if you have a texture called mytexture.png then the line would read textured = mytexture.png

Thank you for all you help. I added the texture as described in the first few minutes of the video you provided (The rest went into more detail that I don't think applies to me right now since my model is only 2 solid colour as opposed to the many colour in the videos example).

However, when I went to "Import Model" in GG, there is no texture folder to add it to. Do I make my own texture folder?

Also, do other model engines such as Blender provide an easier way to allow the colour of models to be imported to GG?

Sorry for all the questions, I am coming so close to being able to create my own complete game and the only thing stopping me at the moment is not understanding how to import the colour of my model.

Once you have created the texture in wings 3d and saved it, go to gameguru and:

1. File -> import
2. Choose your file to import
3. Adjust the settings on the right hand side to your preference
4. Click where the arrow points to in the picture below and select your texture
5. Click Save, choose where you want the model to be saved, choose a name, and click ok
