At last I have managed to make my first usable weapon and it has been approved for the store. It is a Confederate Bowie Knife.

Thanks everyone, It has taken a while for me to get to grips with how to make a weapon, it is quite involved isn't it. But now that I have I am willing to have a go at more complex ones.
