Hi All,

Just had a recent bug report email and subsequent solution, and wanted to share with the community while it is still fresh. If you are using GameGuru, and have an XBOX Controller plugged in, it will interfere with your keyboard and your mouse control, causing some very odd behaviour. The solution is to unplug the controller when you are using GameGuru and your keyboard and mouse functionality should return to normal.

Hope this helps someone out there in GameGuru land!!
PC SPECS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit, Intel Core i7-5930K (PASSMARK:13645), NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980 GPU (PASSMARK:9762) , 32GB RAM

It doesn't effect mine, I always have my Xbox controller plugged in since the start of fpsr/GG.
Probably more likely related to a program that sends keyboard keys to the controller like xpadder etc.

I have a standard pad. Remember them, lol? I'd like support for normal pads/joysticks rather than the Xbox/Amstrad rip offs. When a company changes the way something has worked fine for years, they are just money grabbing. I mention Amstrad, not because they have anything to do with Xbox or the pad, but that they did the exact same thing back in the Spectrum days when they took it over.

Joypad support would be good though and as Xbox sounds like a proverbial pain, perhaps standard pad support would be easier in the meantime?

Yeah as smallg says, it's more likely to be the software being used than the pads themselves, I use an XBOne pad without any software now that they've added driver support for them in Windows, it's always plugged in and i'm not seeing these issues.

The only input issues I have at the moment are that the numlock disables some of the keys in the editor, predominantly the DEL key, but that happens with or without the pad plugged in, on all of my machines, with all of my keyboards.

I have my xbox (360) receiver plugged in to my computer all the time. Though I only turn on the actual wireless controller when I'm ready to play games on steam with its support.

I got my Xbox controller specifically for Game Guru. I downloaded JoyToKey and was delighted to be able to do all my game design/editing using the controller. It's so much better than using a mouse, especially with my disability (cerebral palsy). I haven't noticed any problems. I also use GlovePIE to test my games.
