3rd Party Models/Media Chat / How to calculate polygons in a blender model

Hey all, did a search on this and only found one post that didn't really answer the question, and didn't want to drag up an old post. Also looked around a bit on google, but for some reason there seams to be no straight forward answer.

So how do you calculate the number of polygons in a Blender, is there an option somewhere in blender that tells you the correct count - if not, why not -.

I know the number of faces, vertices, and tris are displayed on the top of the screen, but do you add them togther of just use tris, or....

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi reliquia,

tris = polycount
face = could be tris or quads or ngons

As nomis said, Tri's (shown in the bar at the top of the screen) are effectively the same as poly's for the sake of a count.

i7, NV960 4GB, 16GB memory, 2x 4TB Hybrid, Win10.
i5 , AMD 6770 1GB, 8GB memory, 512GB Generic SATAIII + 2TB Seagate Baracuda SATAIII, Win7.
i3, Radeon integrated graphics, 4GB memory, 512gB Generic SATAII, Win8.1.
Q6600, Intel integrated graphics, 2GB memory, 180GB Generic SATAII, WinXP.

Hey all, thanks for the reply nomis3D and Belidos.

Yeah I did read some where that the Tri count is essentially the poly count, but then I did a bit more reading and came across all sorts of conflicting info, hence the OP question.

So many thanks for clearing that up for me.
