I have searched for this answer and found a couple threads, but none of them actually relate to my problem. I have been having trouble with a bunch of different models, from ones that are very low poly to my current one that is higher poly.

I created it completely in blender, UVed it, textured it, exported it as 3ds, then when importing into gameguru I get the runtime error 7018. I have imported models from this version of blender fine and I have no idea if there is any difference between how I made working models with ones that are getting the error.

Not sure if there was any new progress on how to fix this error.

Hmm, 3ds format is not very forgiving, Blender exports a static x file, which might import better. Static FBX is available also.

B3DOBJECTLOADFAILED 7018 is the message for the error code provided.
This could mean a bunch of different things from mapping to mesh issues.

Would it be possible to post the blend file and your textures and 3ds file to dropbox and then it can be looked at.

Email the link to me at the email address below.

Ok, got your files and opened them in Blender, applied the texture and exported a .3ds file and an x file for testing.

The .3ds file crashed the importer with the 7018, and went thru a session reload, which after that the importer would not work.

Restarted GameGuru and tried with the X file from the 2.76 version of Blender.
That functioned perfectly.

Will have to send your .3ds file to Lee for examination on why it would crash the editor.

So I would use x file export out of Blender for this.
You may need to turn it on in user preferences under export import section, if you dont have it on all ready.

Now I did try FBX out of Blender, but that crashed in Blender and did not write the FBX file.

Will send the dropbox link back to you in PM.

I don't know if it's been fixed, but there used to be an issue with Blender exporting in .3ds, what used to happen is that all of the joined vertices, would split, (for example if three faces joined at the corners then instead of a single joined vertice it would become three overlapping vertices) doubling, trebling or even your vertice count. Maybe it's that?
