Out of curiosity is it possible to script a video to play during game start-up before proceeding to the game menu screen in a standalone game? Obviously you can set story zones to play video in game, but I wanted to do something that plays before you get to the menu screen like a lot of the late 90s-2000's games used to have. Thanks

This has been done .... If I could only remember who did it in their game ....

I can't remember who it was or where the post is, but if I remember right it was done by using a customer 3rd party launcher that basically played the video then launched the gameguru standalone, so it wasn't really as part of gameguru just a chain of launchers.

Actually Unfamilia did this with his game "Steve" now I think about it ... But I think his plays as soon as you click start if I remember correctly. You can download it here and perhaps see how he did it or if this is what you need.

Codecs is an issue with other formats..

Also back in the day I was doing lots of Setup.ini file edits and thinking if maybe something simple like
playvideo=files/videobank/video.wmv is a option ?

Also does anyone know the source of the the GG place holder image when the standalone is loading?

I have received enough emails and posts for me to add LoadSound as a LUA command (much like images do now). As before, if you feel animations are important enough to shove other existing work items off the top list, send me emails and posts asking for LoadAnimation, etc. (of course it means a small delay in Save/Load and Building Editor but you know that, right)

@ Lee, please carry on with your current focus Im sure this is something that can be added later for sure. Save/Load is much more needed and keep up the great work.

@Display mode error, yeah a lot of my post is just brainstorming ideas, if LoadAnimation is added this would open up many options.
However if you have any ideas though, please share. I love reading what peoples thoughts are on topics. ..
