Hello all.

It has been ages since I put something up on the store.
So here is a modular SciFi pack I am putting together. Lot of work to go yet.
All textures done in Quixel Suits 2 and then lights and shadows are baked into the textures for use in Game Guru.

This is real time lighting and no lights used in the map. Illumination texture doing the work.
Nice thing about no lights is, you can crank up the bloom and not have anything with a light by it get washed out.

Settings in attached below.

Comments welcome.

I like your doors, shapes and corridor designs. The browns are well toned and look good and the illumination maps are great, I'm surprised it looks that good without interior lighting!

My very humble opinion it's a great set - you might want to play with your red/yellow/blue tones though; they seem a bit out of place compared to the rest of the palette.

Good luck either way and thanks for the great offering once again

Thank you for the comments.

Colors will probably change a few times, as I get these all assembled. Trying to make it look well abandoned and a lot of grunge over the colors. I will switch out the colors, and I will probably boost the lights in the model program just to bring out a bit more of the low light details and re baked the texture maps. There are some light misalignment's I can see from where they were placed in the model program.

Baking your textures in the model program can achieve the same results as baked lighting in GameGuru, but I get a little bit more control, and the LOD's will still work properly.

Nice work, you know I love using baked shadows, are you baking the shadows right into textures? There is a way to use unbaked textures and use the normal map for baked shadows overlays which retains texture resolution, this means textures can be reused and edited/changed without having to rebake.. I could send you a couple of samples of this if your interested.

The only drawback might be that you lose specular highlights for shiny metals so it might not suit you right now.

Thank you all for the kind words.

@Rolfy:
Yes I am baking lights and shadows into the textures of the diffused.

Definitely interested in the samples you have to show. Keeping the light usage down in GameGuru and not having to rely on the baked lighting there. I believe I think I can get the look I am after. Now if I could kill or control that sun.
Thank you.

If you send me a sample of one of your modular entity's I could use that so you see exactly what is going on, I was thinking of doing something similar for sci fi myself with rotating siren lights etc in corridors but quite happy to throw it your way if you like. Using this method diffuse texture resolution is retained and the animated atlas shadow overlays don't require large resolutions so it looks very good.

I will be out for a few but will send you a sample of one of mine when I get back home tonight.

I usually surround everything with a scaled up building or whatever to remove sunlight. A simple box model does the trick.

Just an interesting aside but I have combined these with lightmapped entity's where the pre- baked models are unaffected and it was fairly successful so if these are for store then can be used with other models by users without conflicts.

I do this quite often. Works pretty good, usually need to tone down the spec in the terrain. some of them are pretty glossy looking.
