I don't know if this is possible or how you would do it if it was but I was wondering whether it would be possible to make a character a 'static' object that does not animate. What I was thinking of doing was turning the new 'Spaceman' character from the new DLC into a glorified 'spacesuit' that the player has to 'put on'. Is it possible?

Cheers

Just make a normal script to pick up an item and put it on the character.

If you look into the Game guru/files/characterKit folder, you will see the media for astro. That is the Astronaut.

Copy that media into a folder in you entitybank/users folder.
Copy a FPE file from a static entry. Enter your info in there. give it a test.
astro_body is the suit. Astro_1_d.dds is the texture.

I managed to make him a static object, but his head is turned 180 degrees facing backwards from his body, this is the script:

;header
desc = Spaceman (suit)

;character creator
charactercreator = t.v:2:astro_1:astro:none:none:-1:0:0:-1:0:0:-1:0:0:-1:0:0:-1:0:0:-1:0:0

;visualinfo
textured = Uber Soldier_D.dds

effect = effectbank\reloaded\entity_basic.fx
castshadow = 0

;orientation
model = Uber Soldier.X
rotx = 0
roty = 0
rotz = 0
defaultstatic = 1
defaultheight = 1
materialindex = 2
collisionmode = 1

;statistics
strength = 0
explodable = 0
debrisshape = 0

;ai
aimain = default.lua

Edit - Make sure you select upload file for it to work after choosing it I have done that a few times myself.

For some reason it won't let me upload an image, but basically I made the spaceman a static entity to look like a space suit and his head is backwards

Cheers! Thank you very much. His head and body are now facing the same way. I have my space suit!
