Well today I decided I would support TGC and their GameGuru Project. I bought the Premium pack that was on sell and I figure I have more than enough media to play with. I have been around TGC for over a decade and watched the company grow.

My main background with TGC is DBP, DGDK and AGK. I figured it was about time I joined in on the GameGuru fun to see what it is all about.

The only concerning question I have is I have noticed that every WIP thread I look at has the Ugly Health Box in the bottom right corner. It may look fine for FPS and Sci-Fi style games but I don't think it would suit a Fantasy style RPG. I have not done much research on GG and would like to know if this can be replaced with my own Health Bar.

If it can be done with scripting its no big deal I just havnt seen a project with out it.

Glad to know we can change the huds. I remember there being an editor for this in FPSCx9 but it didn't work very well.

Most customisation in GG is done via lua script or simply changing/replacing the stock media. So changing the HUD should be as easy as replacing the existing HUD Graphics to your own. I think the reason most WIP's still use the default is down to this. I know I wouldn't personally give much thought to a HUD until I had at least a fair game already in place. I rarely bother getting that sort of stuff done early and always leave it till last. This is also down to the fact I don't much enjoy this part and often have to force myself to spend time on it. Having a default just makes me lazy

I would probably hide the default huds and start with basic boxes and text from lua myself, although that lacks a cool graphic of course. Although you can load in an image from here as well now images have finally been supported properly.

I concur! Its usually among the last things to be worked on.
