Hello to all. Gameguru for Mac does not exist but I like many others use MAC every day and do not want to create a windows partition to use GameGuru and programs to create virtual machines slow down the program a lot. There is a program called MAC Wineskyn that makes " run " Windows programs without having any operating system . I am there are not a programmer and this program ( Wineskyn ) many settings to run every windows program on mac. I have installed steam and GameGuru properly with Wineskyn but when you start Gameguru window opens but does not work .. anyone know how to do? We do a guide for all those who would like to use mac and GameGuru ?

Does not work as in how? does the editor come up? does it flicker black in test game.

Is there an error message.
Is Direct x 9.0c installed on the machine.
Is there a virus software that comes with this emulator?

Is there a way to screen capture what is going on?

directx 9 E installed , antivirus There is , there are no error messages .. you open the program and remains stationary on the screen " Gameguru version 1.112 " and on the space where there should be the editor is black , then gray and then still black and increasingly so . There are various settings but I do not know what to change ( more if needed )

Either the fonts are set higher then 100%, or you have the latest nvidia driver and it is broken in the windows world.

Check the font size first. If you can see the splash menu and the one with the video, then check them not to display anymore.

Also can you use .jpg format for pictures, as they can be seen in a browser. I have to open up a paint program to see what the .tiff files are.

What is this windows decoration stuff. Try disabling that. imp1 picture.

I am going to be just guessing as to what to do, and you will have to trial and error this.

Is there an administrative mode for this emulator? Try running Game Guru in admin mode if so.

What version of windows is is supposed to be emulating?

In the screen imp2:
Try checking the emulate 3 button mouse. Option key as Alt key, focus follows mouse.

In the GameGuru root folder, there are these you can try and mess with also:

Open this file in a text editor, not word or office. showonstartup.ini Make sure the top line is 0, so that the movies dont play.
Save the file.
Can you see a windows movie file in that emulator? .wmv is the extension.
There is one in the game guru/files/videobanks folder.

Also in the gameGuru root folder is this file: tutorialonstartup.ini
Open it in a text editor and change the number to 1. Save the file.

Also make sure that you have write permissions in what would be the C:\Users\Your Profile Name\AppData\Local\Temp.

Hello! then the characters are at 96dpi , I have not the Nvidia driver because I have an Intel HD 5300 ( can be for that? ) . I disabled windows decoration stuff . I do not think there are settings to see if I open the program in administrator mode . Windows version 7 , I set the line at 0 in showonstartup.ini and video.wmv opens with vlc ( Mac ) . in AppData is not present anything. I tried all of these settings and the situation does not change .Trying various settings I came to the conclusion that if I enable Mac x11 Driver , Gameguru shows two errors ( see photo)!!

white and gray on " Gameguru version 1.112 " screen . when I close the program I get the "Test Run Logs" that says this :

We don't officially support Mac, and not many have tried emulators to get it going. None have reported that it works.
But also it might be worth noting this page of specification for use with game guru.

What happened to the first machine you listed in your SIG. That one should be able to run GameGuru.

ok I am informing on the forum and I'm testing other virtualization software. I try with playonmymac, crossovers, parallels desktop (it works by emulating the entire operating system goes slow but gameguru) other software give me new hope but there are settings and perhaps script that I can not create, I will keep you informed (I am not the only one to have a mac and want to use gameguru)

ok i tried everything but to no avail. I tested Bootcamp windows but gives me errors with drivers. only it works using Parallels Desktop 11 virtualizing windows having a few FPS, I create another blog post to see how to make to have a high increase in FPS by lowering the quality of course. thanks anyway for answers hoping that in the future may also GameGuru reallizzato for Mac OS X
