http://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-layer-alpha-add.html

http://docs.gimp.org/en/plug-in-colortoalpha.html

And a search on bing produces all this:

Alpha channel for glass goes into the _d texture.
Take a look at the
tent (netting pavilion)_D.dds file
in the entitybank/building folder as an example.

transparency = 0

change it to 3

Word of warning, transparent textures on models are tricky, you need to make the glass the last object you create when modelling it, otherwise when you use it in GameGuru it will occlude the object it attaches to, like this:

You have no alpha.

1. open up the texture in GIMP
2. right click the layer and select add alpha channel
3. use the rectangle select tool to mark out the glass parts, then hit ctrl+c
4. right click your layer in the layer tool and select new layer, click ok
5. switch to your new layer and hit ctrl+v, then right click again and select anchor layer you should now have a copy of the glass only on the new layer
6. go back to the original layer and delete just the glass
7. right click the new layer again and select add layer mask
8. select White (full opacity) and click add
9. with the new layer still selected above it there should be an opacity slider, adjust that to around 45
10. right click the new layer again and select apply layer mask
11. right click the new layer again and click merge down
12. now export it to the same filename it was originally as a dds

Once you change transparency to 3 in the FPE it should now be see through in gameguru

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Game Guru\Files\docs folder contains info on which texture formats you can use, and how to set these things up.

Not only for models, but for sound also.

There is info in there.

It's more likely my mistake, I used the jpeg in your first post to test the transparency for you, if you attach the actual original dds picture here i'll edit the transparency in for you.

Hmn, it does look like something is wrong with your unwrap, I haven't got a 3d modelling program on this laptop at the moment, but when I get home i'll take a look and see if I can find where you went wrong.

I would highly recommend blender, it's a free program that is (once you learn the controls) easy enough to use. You can get it from Steam and Unfamilia has a great series of tutorials for making a model and getting it gameguru ready her eonthe forum.

Model was fine, it just wasn't unwrapped properly so the textures were in the wrong place.

Although there were a lot of extra edges and vertices that were totally unnecessary, something I've seen a lot of with sketchup, so I trimmed them out for you.
