Hey guys!
I'm using retimer tool to slow my animation (3ds Max), pluss add more frames (1600 frames in total).
The anim work pretty nice in Max and slowest as I need, but whe I going to try in GG the mesh (stock canoa), it is vannished from my map, so I tried to add a new one, but it is not at the end of the mouse pointer.
To clarify, I took stock canoa, animate it thru path constraint in Max, firts tried with 800 frames without retimer, it works fine, but with 1600 does not.

Before with anim running without retime and 800 frames work nice in GG, but fastes than I need, so I decided slow it via Retimer tool.

I want the canoe gliding smoothly through the water like a relaxing walk in the forest, but with random speed not constant, to create a more realistic effect, and that I am gettig with retimer tool, but I need to know if is it supported by GG .
The questions are:

1- As state thread title.
2- Is there some frame count limitation in GG?

Or perhaps I'm doing something bad (as usually)
Or maybe I should try via script (SetAnimationSpeed and so on).

Thanks guys for all feedbacks.

I have experienced extremely odd behaviour with animated x files in GG. I made an animated clock. Worked fine as an animation. When I tried to display it as individual frames so I could control its speed in code, it started acting like a pendulum! Going from 12 to 1 then back to 11 and 12 on the clock face. The code itself was fine. I had the frames being displayed along it to check what was happening and no, GG was just not working at all. I sent Lee a mail but have heard nothing back as yet.

I did also change the length of the anim in Blender myself, although I just deleted key frames and remade over a longer frame count. I never used more than 800 frames though. I just put it down to a GG bug and left it there myself, how GG can display what it did with the animation it had is beyond me. I'd put up a video but Shadowplay has refused to work at all for some time now, only recording about 3 seconds before switching itself off with a red line through it

This doesn't sound the same issue as such, but does sound like an issue with animations all the same. I'm guessing it's the lua side causing issues rather than the model. I know for a fact changing animation speed can sometimes cause objects to do odd things, I've seen it when trying to code a few things. Normally works first run, but then goes wonky on the second I tend to avoid it now. You may be fine if you only change the speed in the ini and not while playing though. I was trying to change speed back and forth to change the door shutting speed between open and closed as one example. Setting it once only may well be fine.

I don't think there is a frame limit, or at least not as low as 800. I'd try reanimating your object again with the speed you want to see in GG and trying that without altering the speed, see if that works. Making sure to delete any old dbo and fpe files before importing again. I haven't used Max since version 3 as it is an expensive package, but you would expect the timeline tool to work okay, never used to be a problem in Dark Basic anyway.

Probably not much help, but you know your not alone in experiencing odd behaviour with animated models on occasion.

I've redone anim and it work, with even 1920 frames.
plane to reduce frame count, and add some tweaks, to get what I want to.
So we can state GG does work fine with retime, that tool is quite nice to chage timeline, speed up or down to your anim.

Thanks you very much DVader for feedbacks.

As DVader confirms there is no frame limit (our latest uber character animations are now at 60,000 frames and growing). You will of course run out of numbers at about 22 million, but it's not something to worry about.
