Wasn't there supposed to be a demo game made by Lee that came with the sci-fi pack?

There is a demo, yes! I don't know for sure that it's the one Lee was referring to, though; it's in the maps folder, not in the drop-down menu.

Has anyone noticed that you can't use tab in the demo? I get no stats displayed at all for some reason. I have updated my nvidia drivers of late so possibly another odd bug caused by them. Otherwise though, the level seems to work fine, whereas a blank default map turns black since updating the drivers.

Probably a hide hud in one of the new scripts in the scriptbank/scifi folder.

Does a restart or a new level give you back the HUDs?

We have the identical machine and I am using the 359.06 version and am having no issues.

Let me know please, so we can get you fixed.

Thanks

To get them back I need to restart GG. Loading a blank map straight after running the demo leaves them hidden.

Something about the sc-fi test level also seems to run fine with the new drivers. No black flickering. A blank flat map however turns black as soon as you stop moving your mouse.

Thanks for reporting back. I will look into this.

Edit: No the tab tab does not work in test game. I am going thru the scripts now.

There is a hidehud.lua script being used in the level some where. I just need to find it now.

It is the barrel beside the temple on the right side.
That is where the hidehud.lua script is assigned.

I've had a look and I see the issue. Here's a script that gets the tab key functional again. As long as you quit the level with the huds on, any new level you make will still display the tab info without a reboot og GG.

I will be removing the barrel when the SCIFI DLC is updated. HIDE HUD has a bug which hides EVERYTHING, and it really only needs to hide the game HUDs. Does anyone see the logic in hiding everything like it does now, or shall we continue to call it a bug to be fixed?

Hiding the stats panel is somewhat uneeded as in a stand alone you cannot see them anyway. So yes, defo better to hide only game relevant stuff. The script I wrote above works great in a test game to fix it, but obviously if left in would then have the problem of showing the hidden hud when you press tab in a standalone as well.

Hi all, yeah I have to agree that hiding tab tab settings is not needed. Only hide the game hud.

As a side point, it would be really useful to be able to flag an object with special scripts (like the barrel) so they can easily be spotted in the editor. Maybe a checkbox in the properties that, when checked, places a square around the object or something.

Reliquia....
