Trust me, I am not trying to start trouble here but.. what is there I don't understand. I thought development time would be spent on implementing direct x 11 and other features we have been waiting for... I only speak here for myself but to coin a phrase, space junk I don't need right now.

If this post is considered off base, i'm sorry, but I would like to know what the current goal is in the near future...

I may kick myself for this post but I am just a little frustrated with the progress of implementing features. Please don't tell me that if I am not a happy camper that I have a lifetime access to GameGuru and I can come back later.. I know that. That is not the answer I need.

Hi m2design,

As far as I know the Space DLC is being worked on by a third party, so I would think that Lee and co will be working on the GG.

But, Yeah I think we all want bug fixes and features like yesterday, I guess it would be nice to have a little more transparency as to what is actually being worked on at the minute. I did read in another post somewhere that Lee has already been working on DX11 integration, but can't remember where.

Anyhow, maybe a MOD can fill in the blanks for you\us...

reliquia is correct, the SCIFI DLC is made by a someone who isn't assigned to program GG. It's like you working on your game and hiring someone else to do the audio. This will happen quite a bit so don't worry, Lee and the gang are still beavering away to pack in the fixes and features.

Fixes are being done for a release soon and Lee has already been working on the DX11 Implementation ..
The Sci Fi pack has no bearing on this and has been created and compiled by a third party ..

All is good

Actually not all being stated is correct, lee is spending time testing the content, and this is very resource intensive job and takes time, so while he doesn't directly create the content, by blog posts he is over seeing it.It is possible that one or all 3 Dave's might be on leave or busy with another project, ect or there is a bunch of content that needs testing.

Lee doesn't mention every thing that goes on behind the screen, so taking a day or two on content duties, is hardly worthy of bouncing up and down and shooting him with fake laser pistol sounds and gun.

The screenshots are provided by the artists in most cases, so there is definitely the impression that lee is spending less time coding and more playing about.He isn't whether or not he is implementing the DX11 update or is working on the voting board remains unclear, he may very well be or one of the other programmers in the group and simply nothing to report on that front.

@Everyone
Thanks for the information. I said I might kick myself for my initial post. Consider myself kicked. It's called "overreaction" to a bit of frustration. Some days just plain start wrong. Sorry about the "junk" word, should have been "stuff". The sun will rise in the morning and things will be better. Mod might want to delete this thread, if so I would understand.

I figured you would want me to make sure the SCIFI DLC does not go out with content that breaks the standards we have built so far. I can confirm that the new pack has good geometry and textures, good collision, good material assignments and custom written scripts to ensure you get a unique perspective of in-game logic. In addition to pure assets, the SCIFI DLC also demonstrates how you can make a game without any weapons or violence. As stated, all the work was done by a third party, I was just drafted in to make sure it was super solid before we launched it on Steam. Similarly, I have new content that has been coming in for the Death Valley and Fantasy DLC, so I want to get that wrapped up, tested and released so my plate is clear for more important coding work. In terms of priority, in addition to the voting board I get to read a LOT of feedback from the various reviews, forum posts and emails about what GameGuru is generally lacking, and graphics always seems to be in the top three complaints. My hope is that the new SCIFI DLC, and the extremely cool new content for the Fantasy Pack will shift that concern a little while we return to features and fixes. I am not planning any new content DLCs after the SCIFI DLC (just bundles) so I can get a lot of coding done over the next months.

Third party made content. Nothing has been considerably hindered by its development.
