So far it was kind of sanctioned to import FPSC assets into Game Guru although the standard FPSC license didn't permit it.

And it was also kind of 'ignored in a positive way' that old-time FPSC users who bought Game Guru also, used GG assets in their FPSC projects.

The reason I bring this up, is that only yesterday did I become aware TCG had pulled FPSC and all associated model packs from the store. It was mentioned that TCG 'might' make FPSC open source and make the 'old' TCG-made model packs available for free. While I generally would appreciate it if FPSC was officially handed to the community, I was wondering how this would affect using GG assets in an open source FPSC. I will be honest, Game Guru was a rollercoaster for me that came to grinding halt summer last year and since then I bought several asset packs only to port them directly to FPSC.

How will that be handled in the future?

It's always been accepted that all GG media can be used in other engines, the only condition is that it is protected from ripping.

This is still the case as the media is already out and about in some other engines already.

We will definitely being taking all the TGC owned FPSC model packs and making them part of our process of open sourcing the old FPS Creator Classic product, so you will have access to those again in the near future. We have also contacted the artists who own the other packs and have confirmation from a few that we can include theirs as well. This process will take a little time through as it's currently not top priority, but we are turning the wheel a little every day until FPSC is happy in its new pasture.
