How about a competition to see who can create the best AI Lua script and maybe some custom AI to go with it?

I don't think TGC will do some thing like this, as not every one can program or use lua, you would be shutting out more than half the users with a comp like that.Where as creating a game, every one can join, and there is no need to have scripting skills, it might benefit you but not needed.

TGC will be far better doing it themselves as us scripters would have to use workarounds for things which should be included as standard. It's planned after the DX11 stuff I believe. When that will be of course no one can say, it could be months and months away yet. I can't see DX11 being added all that quickly, although Lee has already done some of the groundwork in advance, so it could be faster than we think of course.

While I like the idea overall, many of us just don't have the ability to create complete LUA scripts, and besides we all know who will win anyway, it will be a close call between moshroom and smallg

It wont matter ...
Custom scripts do not get carried across in Multiplayer ..
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

Very true. Hopefully if the standalone app gets voted up and worked on that's something they will sort out. Multiplayer really needs full scripting capability, it's a bit too basic and to be honest useless without it.
