Just wondering. I am planning on creating some media to put up for sale whether it be on my store or turbosquid page and would want it to be in scale! I remember in the days of FPS creator it wasn't too difficult to judge distances because you just had a 100x100x100 cell to give you some sense of scale but with gameguru (as of now) there really isn't anything like that...

Thanks in advance!

The average human is 1.8 meters high and as such I set my units up in Max to 1 unit to 10cm. This allows me to accurately model most things. I also use some basic cubes to help me for door widths and heights and even window heights this is in various files that I load before starting a model or import in later to rescale it. You should be able to set your units up in whatever package you are using.

Just to add be careful you are not selling the same assets here that you are on Turbosquid, they can afford better lawyers than you and often use them. It is part of their artist agreement.

Available for weddings, bah mitz fers, funerals and freelance work.

Thanks.

Are you sure about this? I am fairly familiar with the selling conditions, I think you are thinking about the Squidguild membership? I do not have that but I have read through that and it says that if you are part of their special program then you can only sell exclusively on their site and nowhere else. I checked again in their agreements but did not find anything saying (with normal membership) that I could only sell exclusively on their site...

Can you point to me specifically where you might have read about this?

A tip someone gave me in another thread was to import a gamguru character into your scene to scale everything to, then delete it from the scene when you have your scale.
