Hi guys, a quick question to the experienced modellers here.

How do you guys gauge the size of your larger models?

For example houses and large structures, how do you know what size to make them?

I know that you can use Entity Workshop to compare an objects size compared to the size of a character model, but it doesn't work so well when you're viewing large models because the character model tends to disappear inside the model you're viewing.

Any tips you can share for sizing models? Especially Blender tips.

Something I've tried recently for "indoor" building segments i'm working on, is making a few un-textured template models that fit a grid square which I can edit for new models, but what i'm not sure of is ceiling height for them, and height for buildings etc.

if you want the correct scale a simple way is to import a character from the stock library, and model the height according to that.

Good advice, but I was thinking in a more accurate way, with large objects compared to other stock object, i'll certainly try your advice though.

In the end I imported the .x into ultimate unwrap, then saved it as .obj so I can load it into blender whenever I need a scale, thanks for the tip guys.
