Quote: " I will be honest and say the old TGC forums were tough on people sometimes. Ive seen people attack newer {NOOB} posters very quickly for sometimes dumb comments or questions , or simply because they read it too fast. I bet with this now being on steam the new audience has forced a little more umm patience :p Thanks"
I "lurked" for many years on the DBPro forums as well (2004-2012). At times I had the same impression as you, and that's why I never signed up for the forum. I'm sure everyone has heard it said that there is no such thing as a stupid question, and while I agree with that to a certain extent, once in a while somebody comes up with a doozy! I learned a lot though because I knew that if I had a question, chances are somebody else had already asked it. That proved to be true. Google forum search was indispensable. The GG forum has always been friendly, and it has nothing to do with the Steam crowd! I think most here remember what it's like to be new to this, and how little noobs realize what is involved in all this. The folks around here treat everyone with respect as long as they are respectful. When someone comes in to the forums and starts criticizing GG or comparing it to other engines (basically trolling), or wondering why they've spent a whole two hours making a game and it looks nothing like Skyrim or whatever, they are usually dealt with pretty swiftly. Those people are the typical Steam user.
Anyway, welcome aboard!
