Hi noticed since the last major update Random Level generator is not so random, Where it used to give random and realistic looking terrain, nice hills and mountains I keep getting the same blobby mess every time. If there is a difference between the levels I cannot tell unlike how the random gen used to work. It's like a puffy bed quilt gets dropped on the the level with no flat areas.

Is this by design? Any way to fix this?
With the current "circle only' tool in GG it's near impossible to make those natural looking landscapes and the random tool is a must.
I'd like to get the random level back to how they used to look.

I agree with Rabid. I think the old setup was too random sometimes, but the random levels do all look pretty much the same now. Instead of letting us set the min/max height and "roughness", we get a grid of rounded sinkholes.

I Agree it could be a bit too random sometimes, but I think the results were better than they are now, I could always get a landscape that suited me within a few clicks if not on the first go.

I would really like the old style back,or at least the options you said about settings some values to determine the map generated.
Importing height maps would be even better but I see TGC has been on the fence in regards to that for a very long time and seems not so keen to implement it.

Your description of a grid of sinkholes describes the maps generated now perfectly.

Lee is still working on a new terrain generator and that is why it is the same one right now.

Cannot wait to check it out. Guess I shall put level design on hold for now and work on some other stuff.
