Sorry everyone I am having problems with transparency on an item I have made. It shows in the image below.

As you can see the background is showing through. I have tried 2 and 3 in transparency in the fpe but this is not working. The door is cut out from the tube and then left in place and made transparent in the texture.

It is all one model. I just can't seem to get it to work, it is doing my head in. Any help will be appreciated.

It is probably just something I am missing.

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

I've got something to say - It's better to burn out than fade away.

Is the inside of the tube textured? If it isn't it will also be transparent.

I know it's a simple thing you'd probably never get wrong, but always best to check so we're all on the same page if you know what I mean.

Try adding the below to the fpe -

cullmode = 1

It forces the texture to show both sides.
PC - Windows 7 64bit, Intel i5, 12Gb Ram, 1TB WD Black, Evga Geforce 760gtx 2GB
Laptop - Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Core i7-3632QM processor, 8GB of RAM, 1Tb Hdd, Nvidia Geforce GT 740m

Does the texture have alpha channel?
Do you use DXT5 when save texture?
I guess you already shelled model (shell modifier), but if not...
Do you use "force both sides" when rendering?

And Merry Christmas for you too.

@Belidos Yes it is textured thanks, I have made that mistake before lol

@Emrys I tried this but it does not work, when I use it, the model is not quite so transparent but I can still see the background. Thanks

@3com I use MindTex to create the DDS files this sorts out all the DXT5 and Alpha channels. The model that is see through is a tube so it shouldn't need the shell modifier as it already has one and I just tested it without the glass and it is fine, but thanks for you help.
