Trying to add a sound via any entity/object. e.g. any model entity/zone markers results in failure and crash : Memory Fragmentation error, then resuming from previous session which attempts to load the last saved/opened and not necessarily the one your are currently using. This results in a complete lock up of GG when it eventually resumes to the previous level and Task manager is required to force close GG. No sounds can thus be added/changed to any entity via their properties dialogue boxes. Attempting to do so could potentially threaten the credibility and loss of your levels so is best avoided as its not something one can get to work. It just wont no matter how many times you try and GG will constantly crash and become more and more unstable the more you try it.....

Happens with any entity, zone, sound consistently and always.

See attached screen shots : Try adding a sound zone to new flat level - fails - then loads last credible level - then GG freezes up and force close is needed.

Hey Uman, try running GG as admin, it solve many of my probs, like memory frag issue.

Hi Uman ....

Not seeing this at all I'm afraid ....
I just tired various trigger, sound, Music zones and entities using wavs. oggs without any problems ?
Anyone else seeing this ..
The only person ever to get all his work done by "Friday" was Robinson Crusoe..

Cant make it do this either.

Sounds work fine for me.

Uman, try as stated by 3com running GG as administrator (right click icon -> properties -> compatability -> tick run as administrator box and apply), if that doesn't work try validating your files via steam.

Thanks for the feedback.

Tried running as admin and makes no difference.

I will look at validating when I can find time to do all that's needed to backup and so on first.

By the way I can get all sound files to work if I script them into the various individual entity needed script files (not zones - don't know how to do that in their case). It's just sound sets I refer to in editor properties dialogue boxes and attempting to add or change sounds therein. I wanted to add a sound to a sound zone but as said don't know where to do that via a script as opposed to in editor properties or adding sounds in an entity model scripts. All currently existing sounds on entities and zones work placed in previous versions still work fine - its only adding/editing new ones cause a crash.

What format are your sounds in? To use in GG they need to be wither .wav or .ogg, nothing else.

Sorted this now thanks.

I ended up creating my own sound and music zones and .lua scripts to load the required sounds.
