Great to see a Game Guru created get noticed by one of Youtube's top Let's Players, Markiplier

I'm very surprised this was not mentioned in any of our newsletters (has nearly 2 million views)

By the way, seeing comments like this... makes me wonder... will it be possible to change the fonts used in GG?

I remember not too long ago (about a month maybe) Lee was saying that new fonts had just made his shortlist, something like a bitmap font system if i recall correctly. But I agree we definitely need more fonts

the game (my bones) is too short and/or lacking any real challenge to charge $2 for but overall the game was decent, people just expect a lot more nowadays
i think mark was a bit overly critical too, he already said it's clear that English isn't the developers native language and then continued to criticise it, however i think this is because the game lacked any other major talking point... there was no ominous threat, no interaction except opening doors or picking up keys/notes.

just a very short story in a good looking atmosphere with nice music, with more content it could certainly be very good

I really wish Game Guru's tagline within the wordmark wasn't "the easy game maker"; sounds so incredibly unprofessional when a player reads it out

It is possible to remove it from the final export?

Fair play to people who have made a game for steam in GG, very brave. I am amazed at the lack of quality control though, I mean, the author does not make his game look good from the fact he has no clue how to type sentences. I am in fact appalled at the into text, not even seen the game yet! Not an excuse that you don't know English well when releasing a game on Steam! A couple of English speaking beta testers could have sorted that out quickly.

Okay, this is not a good GG title. It shows off all that is bad about GG and I am having difficulty accepting this is a Steam release for actual money. I'm not going to give the author false info here, this is bad and seems like a cash in effort. I mean the game lasts no time at all and really has nothing in it beyond a few messages and a couple of scenes. The worst part, anyone who releases a decent game after this may well get tarred because people recognise the graphics from this...

I've seen WIP projects that look a million times better and they are not even finished yet. So as much as I like to be nice when it comes to judging peoples games, I'm afraid if it's a Steam release for actual money, I'm not gonna lie, this is awful.

I wouldn't be advertising this either, 2 million hits or not. It has 2 million hits for all the wrong reasons.

While i wouldn't buy that game (it looks horrible for all the reasons dvader said), it was kinda entertaining watching someone ELSE play it!

Bad critics are the best way to make it better next time.
Really interesting to have an "outside view".

the way I see it this is the first gen of guru game development like the way the first fpsc games that was release. you are going to see some good and bad ones in the mix until guru gets to it full potential of development. Me personally Im at a stand still with guru and have made no real plans for a title or game release.

If the person that made My Bones had put a bit more time and effort into
it, then it could have been an ok game, it dose seem to have a nice creepy
atmosphere, but everything else just seems rushed, but a little bit of effort
was put into it compared to some,...

After a quick glance at that game Shadow Man linked to, I withdraw my criticism a la DVader. "My Bones" is, by comparison, a masterpiece!

Perhaps we can see this sort of thing, and try to let it spur us on to better things! It would be great to be a decent GG game on Steam. It is capable of better things.

Right now if My Bones was remade it could actually make for a good game if it used Rolfy's concept as well

All my respect and gratitude to all the people who publish games made with GG.

I think it still is not the right time to post a decent game made in GG (in steam or wherever).

A decent game should have a plot, a script, a frame, a target, and in between a number of essential components for the successful development of the game.

A game must have an atmosphere that envelops you, catch you, you practically force Stay glued to the screen.

A game should not only kill and kill and kill for just to get from point A to point B and capture the flag, and in between what's?
And GG does not have the necessary to do so yet, but all will comes.

A game needs more incentives, more components, the characters have to have a personality, and a number of unique features that differentiate it from others, this makes the player identifies and know what can expect from the character.

For example, the character A is strong, he can do it all, while character B is skilled with the knife, on the other hand the character C is fast and quiet.

And so on...
I truly hope that you do not misunderstand my words are just my thoughts and nothing else.

I believe "Last Man on Earth Armageddon" was made by someone (perhaps a child) new to GG and published within two days of purchasing it. Or maybe it was done as a joke!

This was actually the very first thing that concerned me. Back in the FPSC days I put extra effort into making sure the main menus and load screens looked entirely different from any other FPSC made game. However we cannot avoid using the same models and textures. Also the hud needs better modifying tools like FPSC.

I'm surprised that Steam doesn't seem to test the games that are on Greenlight waiting list. They really should give authors a list of suggested changes before approval to Steam. This game did have potential but it should not have been released with a price tag in the state it is in...

As for other Game Guru games making their way to Steam... It is unfortunate that the zombies are in this "game". Now I'm afraid to use the zombies.

I agree, the background story is actually quite an interesting subject, and the art direction, and sounds score is really good, he's made it very atmospheric, I love the sepia feel to it.

Unfortunately his gameplay and storyline scripting is very lacking. It's far too short, there's almost nothing to do except read a couple of notes and find a couple of keys, and the writing is to be frank very weak, not to mention the poor English grammar, as was said in one of the comments he really should have either written it in his own language or had someone who can write better English translate it for him.

This is why its always good to work in a team. Even if its only a team of 3 at the least. We also are very fortunate to have a bilingual forum/community.
