Actually, we are going to start the first half-open BETA on wednesday with the first version that has all voice overs and puzzles inside.

We could use 4 or 5 trusted forum members with GG experience to play that oen through, and additionally a LUA specialist who can take a look at our custom scripts, if they could be optimized even more.

Right now LUA takes 18 - 39 % of the system ressources, which seems quite high.

I like your progress on this. Keep us posted! When do you envision this to be complete? I mean the whole thing, not "just" the beta.

I,ll give it a test if you want, it would be good for you to find out how it runs on a
lower spec comp like mine.
Plus I like to try and break things.

I am pretty sure it won't even run on lowest settings properly on our CPU. An i5-2430M is what we have filed in the Steam Store page as absolute minimum.
But I will send you a key to find our

We are still waiting for the last delivery of voice overs, so the next Beta on Steam will most likely be uploaded tomorrow.

Good News:

We are polishing and implementing still missing content in the meantime.

Preparing for E3 with a longer ingame video instead of a trailer.

Does it give away too much?

Please keep within these boards and do not share the link yet, it's the first iteration and not publically listed.

I think it doesn't give away too much, but i think theres some kind of "no go" in the video. At 2:11 theres the steam overlay, i dont think this belongs in this kind of video for the E3.
Apart from this, the video looks nice

I think you might also want to watch the strafe movements while in the cutscene on the boat. I am no sailor, but, I know that unless there are extreme waves, boats don't typically go sideways.

Good looking video. I like the voice over.

A quick report,..

In EA213 health regeneration is not working for me.

CPU usage is around 70% on my G530, not 100% like I thought.

Memory usage is around 6.75 GB though, quite high, so it's 8GB minimum
for this game.

Changing graphics settings from high to medium or low dose not give me any extra
fps,...this is the only game I have played in GG, or any other game where that has
happened,...very strange,...I know my card is not the best but I should be getting more
fps than I am, not sure why not ?.

I have not completed the game yet,....can't find some keys, lol, but I will keep looking.
Anyway, as I was wandering around I took a few screens, ( that don't give anything
away I think ), so feel free to use them for promotional purposes if you want.

Been testing this game for Ertlov and i have to say its a lovely piece of work and shows GG off in a very different and complex light, if im honest the genre isnt normally my sort of thing, but i soon was really getting into the story etc (and doing a few silly things like killing myself lol) very cool game Ertlov scenery is just sommat else and for a game of this type to keep me interested. gotta be a winner m8, very best of luck with releasing it and i'll be sure to give it the thumbs up

I agree. Could I ask you what fps you are getting on your comp ?. Your graphics are a bit
lower than mine but your cpu is way better than mine,...I am sure Ertlov would like to know
this,....and as testers we should let him know everything,....good or bad.

Next Beta to be expected tomorrow. HUGE additions and several fixes from your last reports.
Trying to speed optimize as much as possible, but honestly, the game logic itself feeds most on the systems, not the visuals.
We still fine-tune them, too.

It's looking very good going by that video, i'm impressed.

One thing though, and it may just be my preference, but when the voice over is running it's a little quiet against the background music, i'm thinking maybe you could fade the music down a little while the voice over is playing, that would make the story easier to follow, at least for me.

i loved it just had me laugh out loud. its great to hear so much voice, a great bonus, it makes for a great game i think you have a brilliant mind for gaming, i love the quips and ironic comments. brilliant. i noticed the steam person too. not really concentrated on boating. now we have xbox game pads maybe get a smoother move. but i enjoyed it.

Thank you guys, thank you very much. As this turned from a small side project to a full-scale game without me noticing soon enough, and taking into consideration that it swallowed far more time and money than I had expected, I am really happy you like it.

EA228,..a few quick things,...
No increase in fps or performance at all for me,...but given that my old dual core
comp is 5 years old now, ( Passmark Rating 2,357 ) and my card ( Passmark Rating
1,391 ) I think we can put it down to that, lol.

In the school the text prompt to pick up the metal rod appears while you are over
it on the floor above, also the door still disappears when opened.

I noticed a tree floating above the ground,...see pic, also I think you could reduce
the number of trees by about one third,...it would still look nicely detailed enough
but would increase fps and reduce memory usage a bit,....it's worth thinking about.

Try to complete the game with any ending except the suicide one until tomorrow evening and report your findings. We aim for a RC1 by sunday.

And for all of those without Beta Access, get your insight here:

Attention - all non-xbox-controller-users playig the latest build:

open the Setup.ini and set xbox=1 to xbox=0

We had to set it to 1 for a steam test run by valve if we really support controlers.
