Here's a slightly improved torch compared to the default one in GG.





Download the attached .zip file and place it in the

1. Attach the script (scriptbank/custom/torchdecal.lua) to a random object (e.g. barrel or box)
2. Play your game and Press "F" to activate/deactivate the torch.
3. Adjust your in-game brightness/ambience/contrast to make it look dark.

There's a known bug where if you hold shift and press "F" the torch decal displays and the light turns off. I just need to fix the script, if someone could take a look and fix the script that would be a great help.

Future Improvements:
* The torch will dynamically move according to the players "looking" angle.
* Add a "battery" feature.

Different way for the script below (uses the engine flashlight global to trigger your overlay).

hi! i did what you wrote, i copied the script to
scriptbank/custom/torchdecal.lua
and the picture was placed in the folder that was suggested in the packed file. when i use this it does not work. i have a normal flash light, somehow the picture is not working, what can i do?

@nuncia, you need to ensure that the image is in scriptbank\images\torchdecal\000.png

Then place "barrel" on the map, set it's script to scriptbank/custom/torchdecal.lua
