In GG screenshots, very pleased with the results, I can still see a few texture issues that need fixing.

Thanks Baumgard, it's away off from a playable demo ! I will probably rebuild it several time yet

What better to attack you in a cave? Rock golem esque character (as ever, it's WIP)

Alll looks great, but you need normal mapping to make it pop.

@JackalHead, yeah, you're right, there are no normal maps on these yet. Once I'm total happy with the textures then I will make the normals.

ok how do you get your illumination to be anything but white? looking absolutely fantastic and i would love to see rock throwing golem. i was thinking a clay one for my own system or mud or similar to that and call them something completely different, the best way to goet something unique is name it unique, hardestt part is making a name up that 1. not sound like anything else 2. rude 3. sensible sounding 4. something that relates
an unquenchable thirst for knowledge of game creation!!!

For the illumination -

Put the colour you want to glow in the Diffuse map



Then the illumination map should look like this, the white part for the glow, black is the mask.



If you want to tone down the glow make the white more grey. You also need the entity shader set to high for it to work.


For the moment my Golem is just called 'The Rock' !

This is so freaking cool! Classic fantasy in here. It reminds me of old creative movies with practical effects and actual artistry aswell as older heavy metal covers. You really know how the sword and sorcery genre should look and feel. It suffers a bit from how it is lit...but that is not your fault.

Yeah you're right the lighting need work on my side and GG side but it will come. Thanks for the feedback, it's very much appreciated.

All looking great. What do you set glow maps to? Is it name_I.DDS? Or have they changed it and does it have to be a certain dds format? I have not been able to get glow maps to work. Also does ambient Occlusion no longer work? Can animate etc, but am not even going to try until they make it easier to bring in custom animated characters into GG. Which should of been added years ago mind you....Hint, Hint if a dev is seeing this. Im thinking of making some free models none rigged though for people who might want to try to animate and bring them into GG. Just gotta find the time to do so. Any ways Im rambling... Project looks great

Thanks, and yes all my glow maps use a .DDS texture and name_I.DDS format just make sure the entity shader set to high otherwise it doesn't work.

I'm putting this project on hold for the moment as I'm wait for DX11 to be added and also to finish off / do a few other projects.
