For the illumination -
Put the colour you want to glow in the Diffuse map
Then the illumination map should look like this, the white part for the glow, black is the mask.
If you want to tone down the glow make the white more grey. You also need the entity shader set to high for it to work.
For the moment my Golem is just called 'The Rock' !
